The legal tussle between former Aviation Minister, Mr Femi Fani-Kayode and his estranged wife, Precious Chikwendu, at an Abuja court assumed another dimension on Tuesday, October 26, when Mr Fani-Kayode filed a counter affidavit accusing his estranged wife of various allegations.
Part of the allegations Mr Fani-Kayode raised in his counter affidavit which he deposed to at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday was that the estranged wife employed 12 in-house nannies to cater for their four children, excluding supervisors and nurses who equally attended to them.
Precious Chikwendu had on September 24, 2021, dragged her estranged husband to the Federal High Court, Abuja, seeking the enforcement of her fundamental human rights.
In the suit, which she also named the Inspector General of Police and four others as respondents, the lady claimed N800 million as damages

He added that the 23-paragraph supporting affidavit filed by Precious were concocted and presented in order to mislead the court and frustrate the administration of justice, saying the whole thing is nothing but a smokescreen intended to avoid the long arm of justice and to malign him.

Part of what the former minister deposed indicated that the estranged wife employed the services of 12 in-house nannies to take care of the four children when she was the wife of the minister and that there were others who also came around to look after the children.

“As a fact, it is not surprising that Precious is capable of such reckless abandonment, because while she was with me in the house, she employed 12 in-house nannies to cater for the children, excluding supervisors and nurses who equally attended to them.
“She did not at any time extend maternal care to the children, for the reason that she had a medical condition which deprived her of any filial bond with them.
“I know that the instant suit is nothing but a smokescreen intended to avoid the long arm of justice and to malign me. There is no merit whatsoever in this suit, which was filed in abuse of court and judicial process. It is in the interest of justice to dismiss this suit for lacking in merit.”
According to NAN, the matter is expected to be heard in the court on Wednesday, October 27.
