Noriyuki Saitoh, an artist from Japan, creates life-size bug sculptures entirely from bamboo. The meticulous attention to detail in the tiny, fragile sculptures is breathtaking. Saitoh shows the wiry grasshopper whiskers, as well as the razor-thin veins on the wings of dragonflies and cicadas. These creatures are created by bending, scoring, and layering pieces of the sustainable wood to give the appearance that they could run away at any time.
