On vacation in Greece, a British man was killed by the tail rotor of a helicopter. His name has been released.

The Oxford Brookes University student, Jack Fenton, approached the back of the aircraft in Spata, close to Athens, unaware that the propeller was still turning.

Investigators believe the 22-year-old “broke away” from his group after being led to a private lounge and went back to the runway to take a selfie.

According to Ioannis Kandyllis, head of the Greek committee for aviation accidents looking into the incident, “all four passengers had disembarked and were brought to a private lounge awaiting a private flight for London.”

‘ However, while they were in the lounge, the victim escaped and ran back to the tarmac in a hurry to get to the chopper.

He was allegedly disregarding ground crew orders to “Stop!” and “Stop!” while going quickly to the plane, according to witnesses we spoke to.

A horrible accident happened in a matter of seconds. Absolutely horrible.

After a trip from Mykonos, it was initially thought that Jack’s parents were in another helicopter headed toward the same location, but it was later discovered that he had been on vacation with friends.

Three people have now been detained by police in connection with the tragedy that occurred last night at around 6.20 p.m.

According to a state news source, the pilot and two helipad ground crew members were detained for interrogation and will appear before a public prosecutor later today.

But Mr. Kandyllis emphasized that both the landing and the subsequent disembarkation of the four passengers adhered to all safety rules.

According to Jack’s mother Victoria, the family finally learned about what happened at 10 p.m. last night.

While the victim traveled abroad with the party to celebrate a shared birthday, his parents remained in Kent.

We are devastated beyond belief. She said that he was the most wonderful boy.

“I believe the pilot is in prison, but based on the evidence, it appears to have been the worst accident possible.”

“Jack and his buddies had taken a helicopter without incident from Athens to Mykonos, so they decided to do it again and took a helicopter from Mykonos back to Athens,” she continued.

“He had exited the aircraft safely when it touched down in Athens, but for some reason he returned behind the helicopter, and the back propeller killed him.” In an instant.

Although the victim’s identity was not confirmed, a representative for the Foreign Office told Metro.co.uk that “We are supporting the family of a British man who has died in Greece and are in communication with the local authorities.”

Emergency personnel flocked to the private helipad on the outskirts of Athens, but it’s believed that the young man passed away instantaneously.

Investigators are now looking into what happened and why Jack got out of the plane as the rotors were still turning.

His father, Miguel, is the director of marketing, sales, and public relations at The Hop Farm, a 400-acre country park and tourist destination in Beltring, Kent, close to Tonbridge.
