Amazing Giant Sculpture In Fort Lauderdale Stands As A Symbol Of Hope After The Year Of 2020

In Fort Lauderdale, Florida, artist Daniel Popper has exhibited a brand-new spectacular sculpture. The sculpture is known as “Thrive” is a true testament to the year 2020, a year in which the world overcame some of its worst crises in living memory.

The incredible fiberglass sculpture is 30 feet tall and weighs more than 14 tons. A forest of ferns and other greenery can be seen emerging from the figure’s open chest, symbolizing nature breaking forth into the surrounding area.

It has already attracted a lot of admiration from city dwellers and visitors. Popper, who reside in Cape Town in South Africa is known for his extensive array of work in public sculpture and installations. His creations include, among others, “Modern Swamp” which was a part of the Croatian music festival Modem Swamp.

Popper remarked of his most recent work: “I sincerely hope that people will continue to engage with it, appreciate it, and spread the sentiment for many years to come. It symbolizes transformation  and hope, two things that have played major roles in many people’s lives during the year 2020.” In addition, he also states that he plans to keep producing new sculptures and installations in the years to come, since travel will becomes more easily available”. The incredible work “Thrive” is proof that even in the most hopeless circumstances, truly outstanding pieces of art can be created.
