Former Bauchi state governor, Isa Yuguda has lamented over the way Nigeria treats Fulanis

A report by The Punch indicates that Isa Yuguda, the former governor of Bauchi state declared that Fulani people are treated unfairly in Nigeria.

The former aviation minister speaking with journalists after the exercise stated that for the herdsmen crisis across the country to be addressed, justice must be given to Fulanis.

According to him, despite the contributions of the Fulani to the economy, they are still being treated wrong.

He went on to accuse past Nigerian governments of creating banditry by their refusal to address the plight of herders whose cattle routes have been taken.

Yuguda, a two-term governor of Bauchi state questioned why the government can’t subsidise pastoralism if huge sums of money are released as subsidies in agriculture.

The former governor called on Nigerians to stop being sentimental otherwise Nigeria will crumble.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammed, said Nigerians have the right to reside anywhere in the country without seeking permission from any governor.

Mohammed made the statement on Friday, February 19, during his appearance on a programme on Channels TV.

He said the constitution does not require citizens to take the permission of his Ondo state counterpart, Rotimi Akeredolu, to live in the forests in the South-West state.
