Kwara State Commissioner For Special Duties Resigns

Kwara State Commissioner For Special Duties Resigns

The Kwara State Commissioner for Special Duties, Hajia Aisha Ahman Pategi, has resigned from her appointment.

This is coming barely a week after the resignation of Professor Wale Suleiman, the former Special Adviser on Health to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.

Aisha, at the inception of Governor Abdulrazaq’s administration, was appointed as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, before her redeployment to the Ministry of Special Duties, following a minor cabinet reshuffle.

WotzupNG reports that Aisha’s resignation may not be unconnected with the rumoured strained relationship between her and some cabinet colleagues of governor Abdulrazaq’s government over alleged diversion of N300m monthly from local government funds in the state.

The development compelled the governor to constitute a fact-finding panel, headed by Justice Mathew Adewara to ascertain the genuineness of the allegation, the panel is yet to conclude its assignment.

In a press statement in Ilorin Friday, personally signed by Aisha, she said ” I Aisha Ahman Pategi, the outgoing Commissioner for Special Duties, effective from today, Friday 28th, August, 2020, humbly wish to formally announce my resignation from the cabinet of His Excellency, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq. “I wish to thank God Almighty, for giving me the grace and opportunity to serve as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and now exciting as Commissioner for Special Duties, serving my fellow Kwarans and representing Pategi Local Government in our drive to better the lot of Kwarans.

“Life is in process, and I am bold to say that having journeyed the political terrain with His Excellency, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, now is the time for me to leave and focus on new ideals.

“Going forward, my interest in community service and grassroots development will continue.

“Once again, I would like to thank Almighty Allah, the people of Pategi, Kwarans, our dear party, APC, and most of all, His Excellency, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, for bringing me into politics. ”

May Allah reward him and continue to be his guide as he pilots the affairs of our dear state,” the statement concluded.
