Hushpuppi was sentenced to 11 years in prison by a US court

Hushpuppi, a Nigerian Instagram celebrity, has been sentenced to 11 years in prison in the United States for fraud and money laundering.

On Friday, November 4, 2022, Hushpuppi was sentenced by Judge Otis Wright of the United States District Court for the Central District of California.

Remember that the social media sensation was arrested in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in June 2020 for international fraud.

He was later extradited to the United States and charged with fraud and money laundering.

Hushpuppi pleaded guilty to conspiracy to launder money with multiple people both inside and outside the United States.

He also apologized to his family members for bringing them shame and praised the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for doing an excellent job of bringing him to justice.

He was sentenced to 11 years in prison on Friday, but he will only serve nine because he has already served two years in prison in the United States.
