Gov’t Releases GH¢3.5 billion To Settle Depositors of Collapsed Financial Institutions
Government of Ghana, on Wednesday 16 September, 2020 at a press on the update of the Novel COVID-19 pandemic has said that, the government has made an effort to make full payment to the victims of the defunct banks.
The announcement made through the finance ministry and the information ministry respectively at the press conference stated out Government’s commitment to ensure that all depositors are refund back their monies even in the hard times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, the employment ministry, led by the honorable minister and member of Parliament for Sunyani West constituency also gave out a vivid account on the impact of COVID-19 and business development in the Country.
He said, Government is committed to creating enabling environment for businesses to thrive within this period world economic crisis. He also made mention of the pension scheme which is to seek bailout for all pensioners thereby creating comfortable living immediately one retires from the civil service.
