Using multiple layers of metal, Barcelona-based artist Frank Plant produces impressively large-scale figurative sculptures. Each layer also contains a single plant and leaf figure, which when combined form the stunning metal illustrations.
I consider all things to be compositions, whether they are physical objects, lines of text, or social situations. Openness and accessibility of the work are important to me. I search equally for harmony and discord because I think both are equally illuminating and fascinating. I was raised with a sense of social responsibility, so I occasionally choose to address these problems in my work as I see them. For me, discovering and analyzing subtle human communication styles is all about revealing the symmetry and balance—or lack thereof—in our daily lives.
