Elon Musk has a counteroffer after receiving criticism for his proposal to charge Twitter users $19.99 per month to create or maintain a verified account.
Musk announced on Tuesday that he intended to charge $8 per month for Twitter’s subscription service, known as “Twitter Blue,” with the promise to allow anyone to pay in exchange for the highly sought-after blue check mark that serves as account verification.
The world’s richest man expressed his opinion of Twitter’s “current lords & peasants system for who has or doesn’t have a blue checkmark” in a tweet by using an expletive.
“Power to the people!” he concluded. for $8 per month, Blue.
