According to Elspeth Mclean’s biography, “color is a method for me to communicate and celebrate the colors of my heart. Painting is how I locate my “happy place.” The artwork I produce becomes a direct reflection of my experience of life by utilizing bold, vibrant colors and a complex dot work style. Because I believe there is already enough darkness in our world, I like to concentrate on its more uplifting and attractive parts. This kind of thinking enables me to be attentive, in the moment, and to look for the good in every circumstance. Many people think I am only and directly influenced by Aboriginal art because I am Australian and utilize dots in my artwork. In actuality, my passion of employing stippling as a method of shading while sketching with a pen gave rise to my dot art. Dots have now become my go-to method for displaying light and dark, pattern, and texture in paintings. Scroll down to see the beauty of her work birth through inspiration.
